About Earl Shilton Building Society.

The Earl Shilton Permanent Benefit Building & Land Society had its first meeting back on the 17th December 1856. The first membership subscriptions were paid on 3rd January 1857.

Today the Earl Shilton Building Society is a member of the Building Societies Association and has one branch plus the head office and offers a range of mortgages and savings accounts. The society is regulated by the FSA (FSA Reg. No: 206078).

Financial Results - Year Ended 31/03/2011 For the year the Earl Shilton Building Society made a profit after tax of £400,804 (£345,307).

Mortgage Lending - During the year £19.87 million was advanced to borrowers and total mortgage balances before provisions was £75.59 million. Provisions for bad debt were £336,504 and at the year end 2 mortgage accounts were 12 months or more in arrears.

Savings – Savers and depositors balances increased by £1.67 million to £93 million.
