About National Counties Building Society

Originally called the Fourth Post Office Mutual Society NCBS was established in 1896. In 1965 the name was changed to National Post Office Building Society. In 1972 the name became National Counties Building Society. Hampshire Trust PlC, a private bank based in Fareham, was acquired by the Society in 2006. They are members of the building societies association and fsa reg is 206080.

Financial Results Year Ended 31/12/2010

For the year the National Counties Building Society made a profit after tax of £1,253,000 (£3,040,000).

Mortgage Lending – Group loan balances decreased by 6% to £877 million after deducting provisions of £10.1 million. No properties were repossessed during the year.

Savings – Savers share balances increased by 1% to £911 million.
